Join us as we land on an undiscovered planet and gaze up at never-before-seen star constellations before catching a comet and letting it carry us to galaxy clusters far beyond this world. We’ll bravely peer into the enigmatic void of a black hole and be amazed by the luminous galactic core of a quasar. When we’re tired from our interstellar travels, we’ll return home to our cozy books and beds where we can gaze out the window to the night sky and contemplate our unique place in this vast and wondrous universe. “To the Stars” is the theme of this year's Summer Reading Club which begins on Saturday, July 15th and goes until Thursday, August 24th. The Reading Club will have in person reporting, and one on one reading sessions with Teen volunteers. A great way to have your child practice their reading and answer questions about the book they read. The Beanstack software will once again be used to track your child's reading progress and award prizes throughout the summer. Learn Ukulele! All Ages

3:00 PM| Library - Adult Program Room

This program offers three weeks of free ukulele classes! Each week will build off of the previous and will allow participants to gain skills in playing the ukulele as well as reading different types of musical notation. The first class on August 2nd will focus on getting to know the different parts of the ukulele, getting familiar with different techniques of playing, and learning how to read notation specific to each technique. The second class on August 9th will highlight chord progressions, practice switching between chords, strumming patterns, and participants will learn some songs. The third class on August 16th will have a strong focus on learning, practicing, and perfecting songs!

Each week will build off of the previous and will allow participants to gain skills in playing the ukulele as well as reading different types of musical notation. The first class on August 2nd will focus on getting to know the different parts of the ukulele, getting familiar with different techniques of playing, and learning how to read notation specific to each technique. The second class on August 9th will highlight chord progressions, practice switching between chords, strumming patterns, and participants will learn some songs.
