In this program, students will learn all about the basics of circuitry, how things are powered, how to open and close circuits, how electricity flows, and much more. Students will explore the fun in paper circuits and learn all about different power sources.

This program will introduce students to basic programming concepts, such as algorithms, syntax, loops, and variables, through the engaging and familiar experience of a video game using python language. In each level, players use computational thinking and computer programming to navigate the hero to the goal without running into spikes or being spotted by ogres.

(AGES 16+) Free, Drop-In

English Language Learning Conversation Classes provide a safe, encouraging environment for people learning to improve their English skills. Classes will be held in-person at the library. These classes are instructed by volunteers and/or library staff, not accredited teachers. Come join the fun!

Become an engineer in this beginner course. Students explore how and why things work by designing and building their own creations in different fields of engineering while crossing over into science and mathematics. From structural engineering like building a marshmallow pyramid to mechanical engineering by designing a parachute out of a plastic bag and string, by the end of the program, students would want to become an engineer.

This program runs monthly from October to March. Help the Library plan an event or campaign for Freedom to Read Week in February. Activities may include writing reviews or blog posts of banned books, creating a book list, making posters, and designing buttons. Earn volunteer hours for participating!

Students will learn the specific commands needed to make a game while navigating through the game development levels. This will culminate in a final project in which each student designs and creates their own unique game and collects peer feedback for improvement.
