Tynker is an educational programming platform aimed at teaching kids how to make games and programs using block-based coding. Throughout a variety of activities, students will learn the ins and out of game and app development

This program will introduce students to basic programming concepts, such as algorithms, syntax, loops, and variables, through the engaging and familiar experience of a video game using python language. In each level, players use computational thinking and computer programming to navigate the hero to the goal without running into spikes or being spotted by ogres.

We will discuss ways to protect physical objects such as photos or notebooks, and we will start to discuss capturing memories through oral histories with family members.

n this program, students will learn to construct a series of smart bots using the Lego Mindstorms EV3 platform including a gripper for some heavy-duty lifting, a self-balancing robot, a color sorting robot, and a robot arm gripper.

In this program, students will be introduced to arithmetic, counters, advanced while loops, break, continue, arrays, object literals, for loops, function definitions, drawing, and modulo.

Join us for a delightful winter storytime with books, rhymes, songs, puppetry, and a steaming cup of cocoa. Warm up your cold winter days with us.

Scratch Jr. is an introductory programming language that enables young children to create their own interactive stories and games. In the first half of this course, children will snap together graphical programming blocks to make characters move, jump, dance, sing, and more. Students will uncover the multiple functions of Scratch Jr. through various activities. In the second half of this course, students will explore Tynker. Tynker is an educational programming platform aimed at teaching kids how to make games and programs using block-based coding. Throughout a variety of activities, students will learn the ins and out of game and app development

This program will introduce students to basic programming concepts, such as algorithms, syntax, loops, and variables, through the engaging and familiar experience of a video game using python language. In each level, players use computational thinking and computer programming to navigate the hero to the goal without running into spikes or being spotted by ogres.

Maker Club for older kids! Tweens learn more about creative technology and maker skills and culture and explore design thinking concepts. Each week, we will focus on a new technology or skill, including 3D design, graphic design, electronics, sculpture, and robotics.

Join the String Therapy group at the Library. You can bring any knitting, crochet, needle point, or fiber art project to work on and chat in a learning environment. This group is open to anyone who is just looking to learn and those with experience willing to share.

In this program, students will learn about the basics of web development using HTML & CSS.
