Planning to seed your garden or containers and don’t know where to start? Bring the family and prepare to get your hands dirty. Join the Sustainable Stouffville team and make pots, plant seeds, and learn about where and when to plant. Learn about how your garden can help pollinators to encourage a sustainable ecosystem. Starter kit seeds and soil will be provided. Did we say treats? Of course, there will be some light refreshments while you browse and chat!

Participants will explore and learn 3D design and printing, while using the Tinkercad design software to create their own 3D object. Finished prints will be available for pickup one week after the course; print fees are included in the program cost.

Bring your favourite dinosaur toy or stuffed animal and join us for dinosaur-themed story and dances! Afterwards, we will create a T-Rex craft and share tea.

Scratch Jr. is an introductory programming language that enables young children to create their own interactive stories and games. In the first half of this course, children will snap together graphical programming blocks to make characters move, jump, dance, sing, and more. Students will uncover the multiple functions of Scratch Jr. through various activities. In the second half of this course, students will explore Tynker. Tynker is an educational programming platform aimed at teaching kids how to make games and programs using block-based coding. Throughout a variety of activities, students will learn the ins and out of game and app development

This program will introduce students to basic programming concepts, such as algorithms, syntax, loops, and variables, through the engaging and familiar experience of a video game using python language. In each level, players use computational thinking and computer programming to navigate the hero to the goal without running into spikes or being spotted by ogres.

Teen Advisory Group (TAG) is a teen assembly that meets every month in-person at the Library to discuss and advise the Library on what services and materials they want offered for teens. Earn 1 volunteer hour. Participants must be able to attend for the entire meeting to earn their volunteer hour
